Momentum builds up on day 3 of U.S. Republican convention

"She will speak as a governor, a former mayor and someone with both hands on the steering wheel of America's energy economy," Tucker Eskew, a senior McCain adviser, told reporters.

"She will detail her record of shaking up the status quo in Alaska and standing up to entrenched interests to put the government back on the side of the people," Eskew added.

Among the other speakers participating in Wednesday evening's program are former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. All the three speakers were rivals of McCain in the primary.

According to convention organizers, the speakers' remarks will reflect the convention's overall theme, "Country First," and the touchstone theme for Wednesday's events, which is "reform."
