Circumlunar satellite Chang´e-1 blasts off

Residents living near the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province evacuate before the launch of China's first moon orbiter Oct. 24, 2007. The launch of the orbiter is scheduled to take place at 6:05 p.m. on Wednesday.
