China prepares for upcoming AfDB meeting in Shanghai

About 2,000 people are expected to attend the meetings. Among them, finance ministers and governors of the central banks of member states, as well as representatives from the World Bank and the
International Monetary Fund. Other regional development finance organizations and non-governmental organizations will also participate.
This is another significant Africa-related event hosted by China. It follows the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum held in November last year.
Founded in 1964, the ADB comprises 77 members from Africa, America, Europe and Asia. China became a member in 1985.
