Iran’s reactions to Blair

Tehran said, “He is trying to hide their problems in Iraq by diverting attention and by putting the blame on others.”

Other residents seemed more optimistic, with a US commission considering options whether to solicit Iran and Syria to help stop the fighting.

Tehran said, “The White House has made a good decision by trying to change its previous bad polices in Iraq.”

Blair's remarks are seen by some in both the US and Britain, as an attempt to influence US policy in the Middle East. Diplomats say it will be difficult for both countries to seek Iranian help while at the same time, pushing for U.N. sanctions against Tehran over its nuclear programme.
