China to maintain stability of Chinese currency   (08/06-11:34)
China will maintain the stability of the Chinese currency, the Renminbi. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said this is not only good for the Chinese economy, but also for the rest of the world. He was commenting on China´s currency policy while meeting with visiting Citibank Chairman Robert Rubin on Tuesday.

China says it hopes the existing Sino－Russian "strategic partnership of cooperation" can be further strengthened. This was the message from meetings in Beijing Tuesday between visiting Russian Federation Council Chairman Sergey Mironov and Chinese leaders. The Russian parliamentary leader was here for a two－day official visit.

In a big moment for Beijing, the logo for the 2008 Olympics was unveiled on Sunday night. The logo is believed by many to be a perfect combination of the Olympic spirit and Chinese culture, and has been hailed by IOC officials as one of the best ever designed. A ceremony marking the occasion was held at the Beijing´s Temple of Heaven, a landmark of Chinese culture.
