广州交响乐团创建于1957年，是新中国成立后全国最早建立的交响乐团之一，余隆任音乐总监。

       乐团多年来先后邀请众多的中国和外国著名指挥家、演奏家一起合作演出，这些著名的外国音乐家来自于德国、英国、俄罗斯、法国、意大利、荷兰、美国、加拿大等。

       1998年10月，乐团赴北京参加首届“北京国际音乐节”，被誉为音乐节中一颗“引人注目的明星”。1999年10月乐团在第2届“北京国际音乐节”中演出法国歌剧《卡门》。2002年10月，在第5届“北京国际音乐节”的开幕式音乐会上，乐团与近千名中外音乐家一起成功地演出了马勒的《第八（千人）交响曲》，开创了这部宏伟巨作的历史性中国首演。

        2001年11月乐团赴奥地利维也纳金色大厅、上奥地利州林茨市的布鲁克纳音乐厅、德国柏林市的广播音乐厅和梅茵兹市的依兹尔音乐厅作首次欧洲巡演，成功的演出受到了当地观众的广泛好评。

         自1999年至2005年，广州交响乐团赴日本、澳大利亚、美国等地进行演出，是迄今为止中国第一个走过世界五大洲的交响乐团。

 GUANGZHOU SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

It was established in 1957, one of the earlist symphony orchestra after New China was founded, Long Yu is its Music Director.

Over the years, the orchestra has invited a large number of Chinese and foreign renowned conductor and soloist to perform together. These well-known foreign musicians from Germany, Britain, Russia, France, Italy, the Netherlands, the United States and Canada.

In December 1998, the orchestra went to Beijing to attend the first "Beijing International Music Festival", and was recognized as "one  remarkable star". At the same time next year, the orchestra performed Carmen at the second "Beijing International Music Festival". In December 2002, at the fifth "Beijing International Music Festival" opening sitting, the orchestra worked with thousands of musician who came from both China and abroad performed Male's "the eighth symphony", This created a huge grand premiere for a historic China.

In November of 2001, the orchestra gave its performance in the Golden Hall of Vienna, Austria, and the successfully performance was widely recognized by the local people.

From 1999 to 2005, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra had performed in Japan, Australia and America,by far it's the first symphony orchestra of China who had went through  the world's five continents.
