The "one country, two system" principle has created a win-win situation, and this is becoming true for everyone from Hong Kong.

"We have come through difficult times in Hong Kong due to things like the Asian financial crisis and the SARS outbreak, but each time we were confident that there was a reliable government willing to selflessly step in and help Hong Kong," said Donald Tsang,Hong Kong Chief Executive.

"This is a significant moment. It is my belief that, with the Hong Kong people's hard work and the strong support of the nation, Hong Kong will have a brilliant future.Thank-you," said Hu Jintao, Chinese President.

At the Beijing exhibition (celebrating Hong Kong's history in the past ten years since the return), Hong Kong's most recent history is showcased. Carrying the weight of the memories, and with exciting exhibits set in the context of the new bright Hong Kong today, the exhibition reveals a fascinating story; the story of the realization of "one country, two systems". These ten years of Hong Kong's history are a fulfilling memory and set the course for a hopeful new tomorrow.

To mark the tenth anniversary of Hong Kong's return, the fourth supplementary agreement to CEPA has been signed and it will come into effect on January 1st, 2008. This ever expanding agreement has spawned new economic growth areas in Hong Kong. The preferential measures designed exclusively for Hong Kong greatly promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong.

During the decade since the handover, Hong Kong has had times when it has been down, but during these times it was "reliance on the motherland" that provided Hong Kong with the firmest support.
