Liu, as one of the Lenovo torchbearer candidates, looks forward to the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing and is keen in public service. He was also the candidate of “Top 10 People Touching Chaoyang” awards in 2007.

Liu Zhongguo had an extensive exposure to the traditional culture of Beijing when he worked as an advertisement salesman at a newspaper. Now he has become quite an “old China hand.”

He loves Chinese Sichuan cuisine. He said Sichuan dishes are strong in flavor and stimulating, giving one the power and the passion. Liu lives in the Chaoyang Park community, where many foreigners stay in. The lifestyle of them is quite different from that of Beijingner, and they make quite a sound at night. However, Liu is an exception. In the eyes of people around the neighborhood, Liu Zhongguo is just a big boy who always behaves properly. He addresses people in the neighborhood as “Shushu,” “Ayi,” “Daye” or “Dama” and sometimes he would sing them an ancient African folk song.
