The injured NBA star Yao Ming underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot on Monday. Houston Rockets doctor Tom Clanton said that Yao is comfortable and recovering well after surgery.

Doctors do not expect the injury to keep Yao from playing for China in the Olympics in Beijing in August. Yao expressed his appreciation for everyone's kind wishes and he looks forward to the day to rejoin his Rockets teammates.
