Special Report:   Winter Storm Relief

After more than a month-and-a-half, power has been fully restored in southern China's five provincial regions. They include Jiangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangdong and Guangxi. They were all hit hard by the winter snowstorms. The local power grid authority says the next step is to improve the safety of power supply lines, possibly by using anti-freezing and ice-melting technology.

Wang Jifeng, Director of Dispatching Center of South GRID said "The power supply in Guizhou is restored to the level of last year. The supply for Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan has increased by 10% compared to the same period last year. It indicates that power supplies in these provinces have returned to normal."
