The Rockets have now won 16 of their last 17 games, and their current streak is their longest since their championship season of 1993-94. The Rockets were ahead by 7 points early in the fourth quarter before debutant Bobby Jackson scored five straight points for Houston. That was capped by a nifty off-balance layup and the free throw that followed to make it 84-74. The Rockets cruised from there to clinch the 110-97 victory. Yao Ming had 12 points and 6 rebounds.
