Special Report:   HK 10 Years

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China, calligraphers from across the nation are displaying their talents at Hong Kong's Central Museum. This is how their brushwork shaped up for Tuesday's opening ceremony.

300 hundred works were picked for display. They cover all genres of Chinese calligraphy from regular script to seal character, from running hand to grass hand. Most of the artists are members of China Calligraphy Association and China Artists Association. Along with them are some traditional water and ink paintings and paper-cuttings.

Along with the promotion of traditional culture, the aim is to strengthen communication between the mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao. At the opening ceremony, 30 works were selected for donation to local schools, hospitals and PLA forces stationed in Hong Kong.
