这是什么？奶酪cheese。你猜，小女孩会吃吗？No！小女孩连看都不看呢！怎么办，爸爸试着劝小女孩吃点东西，“Do you want some …”这个单词是……我们把它拼出来，是这样的：（“b”, “r”）小朋友，把它读出来：对了，是几片面包，br-ead。可是，NO!爸爸又拿了什么？这个单词以字母m开头，对了，牛奶milk。小女孩不想喝可有人想喝呢！你瞧！

Hello everyone, this is Zoe. Welcome to Goal Unit 3, part 3. In the last part, Manni and Peter were allowed to practise in the first team. But the training was tough and boring, hardly to bear, especially for Peter.
不过，我还是能理解Peter，他父亲原来在训练中受过伤，所以他才对助理教练Sophie给他们制定的高强度的训练计划，有抵触情绪。
Alex is really concern about them, how are they getting on with their training? Let's have a look.
一会儿看片子的时候请大家注意几个词，getting there“达到目的", training game 训练比赛 ， be confident of 相信。
好，接下来我们一起看录像。
Alex向Sophie询问Manni 和Peter的训练情况时，Sophie回答说：Fine. They're tired. But They're getting there.
getting there是“达到目的"，“明白要领"的意思。比如： You need hard work to get you there, especially if you want to overpass others.
你需要努力工作才能达到目的，特别是如果你想超过别人的话。
既然Sophie觉得They're getting there。所以Alex said:I've decided to put them in the first team training game again tomorrow 。
我决定将他们纳入明天的主力队员的训练比赛中Here "training game" is not formal game of a football team, it's often used to check the performance of newcomers or players who'll return to games after injury.
training game 训练比赛,一般不是球队的正式比赛，而是正式比赛的前后，球队在检验前来试训的新队员、或查看伤愈复出的队员的状态时举行的比赛。新来的队员如果能在训练赛中表现出色，球队的主教练很快就会将其列为正式球员。
Of course Sophie is hoping that Alex could allow them to be the first team members. She said: I'm confident Manni will give you the performance you want. I'm just not sure about Peter.
我相信Manni会展现出你所需要的状态，但是，我对Peter不是很有信心
be confident of 相信, 后面可以加名词、代词作宾语，或加句子。比如 Emma is confident of Manni's capability.
Emma is confident that Manni is able to play well.
这两句话都表示Emma相信 Manni有能力。
Sophie is quite confident of Manni。
Is Manni confident of himself?
I`m not sure。Manni is a star in his hometown, and he has got a very pretty girlfriend who is a modle, But here in London, things maybe changed, I think.
接下来的片子中，Manni 的女友Lucia到伦敦来看望他，埃玛为她办理酒店登记手续，PAUL 却在一边评论着她，似乎有点第三者插足的嫌疑。
Please pay attention that DO YOU HAVE A RESERVATION?
And DO YOU HAVE A BOOKING FOR A ROOM?
这两句话都表示你有没有预定房间。
And pay attention that how is Paul talking about Lucia，let1s have a look。
I don`t like Paul，he is so easy to be attracted by pretty girls。
我们先不管去管他，我想给大家介绍一个很有用的语言功能酒店预定房间。
---Hello madam. Do you have a reservation ?
---I'm a guest here...
---Yes, that's what I meant. Do you have a booking for a room?
---Do you have a reservation?
---Do you have a booking for a room?
你预定房间了没有？
一般客人到酒店时，前台服务员都会问客人是否预订过房间
--I had a booking for a room here at your hotel last week, right?
―我上周在这家酒店预订了房间，对吗？
--Sorry, the hotel has no reservation under your name.
－对不起，酒店里没有以您名字预订的房间。
When we had to live in a hotel，we often use the two phrases check in and check out。
check in 登记入住
check out 结账离开
--John reserved a room at the hotel yesterday.
John昨天在酒店预定了一个房间
--He checked in this morning, and will check out three days later.
他今天早上登记住宿，三天后离开
In the drama, when Paul saw Lucia at the hotel, he said "she is gorgeous". Gorgeous means very beautiful.
Gorgeous 非常漂亮
Gorgeous 这个词，不仅说明漂亮，还有优美的含义，In the last part，Paul said to Emma“hi，gorgeous” Now he is speaking to Jim：“come on， she is gorgeous！”
Paul是有点花心，他 和Jim的一段对话可能不好理解，
--Take a look at her！ --nice！
--Nice！ Come on，she is gorgerous！
--That's Manni's girlfriend!
--Not for much longer.
--You've got no chance, mate.
--No? Just watch me!
Jim 说那是Manni的女朋友，而Paul对Jim说，她不会和Manni好太久的，Jim说，你不会有机会的，而Paul说，你就等着瞧吧。
Paul is enchanted with Lucia and tries to attract her attention on the first sight.
Lucia 在酒店登记时Manni向她介绍 Emma, Lucia说Yes， we`ve met。
句子中用了现在完成时，表示到现在为止前发生的动作或情况。
这个时态的基本特点是它和现在有密切的联系，或是讲迄今为止这一段时间的情况，或是讲一个影响现状的动作。
根据这个特点我们可以判断什么时候用一般过去时，什么时候用现在完成时在单纯谈一个过去的动作，不涉及它对现在的影响时，通常用一般过去时；如果谈已经发生的事，不用考虑它时什么时候发生的，而主要考虑对现在的影响，则多用现在完成时。请看例句：
――What did you have for lunch? --你午饭吃的什么？
――Have you had lunch? --你吃午饭了吗？
――They have already won a game. ---他们已赢过一场比赛。
Have you got "photo shoot" in the dialogue?
If you got it, we might know something about Lucia's career.
我在米兰的时装拍照活动结束了，所以我就来了...
Lucia是时装模特，所以 photo shoot 是他的专职工作。
In the next part，we will see that Lucia said：
--I wasn't sure you wanted to see me.
And Manni replied：
--I've really missed you Lucia.
Lucia 向马尼表达了思念之情，And she want to go out with Manni，but Manni can`t go with her。
Lucia终于知道了Manni原来在这里并不像他在家乡那么受到重视她想为Manni打抱不平，被Manni制止了，一会儿在看片子的时候，我们可以注意听一下，他们都来自拉美，有一些拉美口音，我们学英语应该熟悉各种口音的英语，对吗，Zoe？
Accent is not very important，if you can communicate with each other，that`s matters。Let`s listen to what they`re talking about。
In this episode, Manni's beautiful girlfriend Lucia visited him.
She thought they needed some time together。Manni always does what he like at home。
但是Manni对自己要求很严格，尽管女友来访。他还是说：I can't stay up late and I can't drink too much.
Stay up late 熬夜，睡得很晚，开夜车Tell him to stay up until I come back.
告诉他等我回来再睡。
He looks sleepy, maybe he stayed up late again yesterday.
他看起来很疲倦，可能他昨天又开夜车了。
Lucia认为Manni在家乡是超级球星，在这里竟然连主力球队都进不去，这太不可思议了！
Yes，she is surprised to know Manni hasn't played in the first team and feels it's unfair for Manni. She said：This is unbelievable！They can`t treat you like this。
I think you should go somewhere else，somewhere where they`ll appreciate your talent。
They can`t treat you like this。他们不能这么对待你treat somewhere where they`ll appreciate your talent。
去一个他们能重视你的才华的地方。
Appreciate is a very useful words， you may say ：I appreciate your help。
Talent可以用来形容一个人的才华，还有这样的词，比如Smart，brilliant ，genius，Lucia 认为球队没有认识到Manni的足球天分，可是Manni想到明天那场决定命运的比赛，还是有些忐忑不安。
Not only him is very upset，Sophie is also a bit nervous about Tomorrow。And Joe come to her。
Joe 似乎总是非常关心Sophie，他劝Sophie不要被教练Alex逼得太紧
Joe said：Well， you shouldn`t have let Alex push you into this
if they`re not really ready。
Sophie said：he didn`t push me，I want to know if they`re ready too！
Push “推".（手势）引申为“逼迫，要求"等push 一再要求 迫使 接近
They're pushing for higher salary.
他们一再要求增加工资。

气温快接近零度了。
If you push a worker too hard，he may make mistakes。
如果你把工人逼的太紧，他们会出错的。
He keeps pushing me for payment of the debt。

Sophie不认为是教练Alex逼的太紧，Joe又问：

今天片子里的对话发生在训练比赛的这天早晨，运动员们陆续来到旅馆的大厅里，Paul 又开始向Manni挑衅，还当着Mani的面提出带Manni的女友Lucia出去玩儿。

look forward的另外一种组合可构成新的单词：
forward-looking: 有远见的，有预见的
He's a forward-looking politician.
他是个有远见的政治家。
Peter: what are you talking about?
It's nothing to do with you.
have nothing to do with 与....无关
当表示某件事与某人无关时，我们可以用have nothing to do with,Manni was not here yesterday, so it has nothing to do with him.
Manni昨天不在这儿, 所以这件事和他无关。
It's none of your business. 这与你无关。
但it's none of your business比have nothing to do with的感情色彩更加强烈，表示强烈的不满。
Paul: yeah, we can show you how to REALLY play football.
Paul: Now, Manni will need a rest tonight, after he's played with the big boys for ninety minutes.
Paul thinks that only he can play REAL football, Manni cannot take the competition on the pitch.
Paul认为只有他才能展现真正的足球，Manni在踢完下午的训练赛以后一定筋疲力尽，
不会再出去了，他乘机邀请Lucia晚上和他约会。
Does Lucia agree to his invitation?

我们在片中看到，在赞美别人时，我们可以用it's very ...of you.

当Lucia拒绝了Paul的约会后，Jim立即风趣地说，

看来这是Paul以前常用的伎俩，但这次失灵了。
在训练比赛前，Alex和Sophie分别对Manni和Peter发表了不同的看法，
Sophie唯一担心的就是Manni的耐力。对此她特别用了强调句式
It's his stamina that's the problem.
他的体能是个问题。
这句话的正常语序是：His stamina is the problem.
这里Sophie用了强调句式，突出了她对Manni耐力的担心。
这种句型可称为强调句。类似的句子有：
Our getting there earlier that's the problem.
我们能不能更早些到那儿是个问题。
片中Charlie对Emma的服装设计表现出一定的关心，而Lucia听说Emma要去Convent
Garden自由市场卖衬衫而感到不可思议。
Convent Garden is a famous old market at London, where fruits, flowers and vegetables are sold.
在Lucia看来，Convent Garden只是个自由市场，作为时装模特，她无论如何想象不出Emma会在那里卖时装。所以她用了很夸张的词“awful".
Lucia: Oh, and where will you sell them?
Emma: In a market called Covent Garden.
Lucia: A market? How awful!
awful 可怕的，使人畏惧的
"how awful"几乎可以表示任何有强烈感情色彩的话。
比如吃惊、赞赏、害怕等。
In the practice match, Peter didn't play well.
In order to help Peter,Manni gave up his chance to score the goal,
and passed the ball to Peter instead, which annoyed Alex.
在训练比赛中，Peter因为平时训练不认真而表现不佳，Manni为了帮助Peter宁可牺牲自己的进球机会而将球传给Peter, 这让在场边观查的Alex大为恼火，
他大声向场内的Manni咆哮起来。
不知等待Manni 和Peter的会是什么结局。
训练比赛结束后，即使是Sophie也对Manni表示不满，认为他不该错过进球的机会。而Paul和Jim更是幸灾乐祸。

I could have tried harder...我本来可以更努力一些的。
在两人的对话中我们看出，Peter认为他本可以更努力一些的，这里他用了"could have done sth", 是虚拟语气的用法，表示与事实相反的意思，说明Peter在以前并未努力。
