In the Xigaze area, this kind of gathering to congratulate completion of a new house is an old custom, which is called locally "Khangsui". When participating in the celebration, people will dress up seriously together with some gifts, which, similar to those of Moinba people, also are mainly things to eat or drink, such as the beef and mutton, highland barley wine. The hosts will also do every thing they can to entertain the guests. When seated, the guests usually may not move around before they drink three big bowls of highland barley wine and scatter a bit of tsampa (roasted highland barley flour) on their left shoulders. Then they can go to visit all rooms, otherwise they will be asked to drink heavily as a penalty. Drinking is a primary activity in the "Khangsui". In order to encourage each other to drink more, they also sing ceaselessly while drinking.
