Reporters on the third Tibet tour for China's key web media arrived at the village on Monday. Upon their arrival, they spotted a nice new Tibetan-style house, and its owner was Bianba, a milk cow breeder.

Bianba joined a milk-cow-breeding cooperative of the village long time ago. With twelve cows, he earns an annual income of 80,000 yuan RMB by producing ghee (butter), cheese and breeding calves. Last year, he spent 400,000 yuan building his new house and buying a tractor.

"We have been becoming better off every year. We don't have to pay for our children's education or our medical service since we are covered by medical insurance. I am going to buy a car next year, so that I can drive my whole family out and have fun," said Bianba.

Of the 262 households of Dongjiao Village, 203 have joined the cooperative, which has a sales outlet to help the villagers sell their dairy products. Many villagers can earn 30,000 to 40,000 yuan a year per person.
