It was the film that introduced me to my husband

At the end of 1970’s, upon somebody’s introduction, Luo Junmei met Lu Hongjun, a fellow villager. Neither had previously experienced what could be considered romantic love. However, because of their mutual interest in the film business, the emotions between them were naturally heightened because of their mutual love. They were married in 1981.

At the same time, a girl who had been Luo’s partner as a movie projectionist left her position because she needed to return home to help her father. Luo’s husband, Lu Hongjun, who had a deep love for the projection business, applied to the relevant leaders of villages and towns to replace Luo’s partner and become a projectionist. Through the examination, Lu successfully became a projectionist and entered the business with his wife.

Since being joined by her husband, Luo had finally finished the hard period of having to “carrying everything on her shoulders or in her hands and walking everywhere on foot.” Lu taught Luo how to ride a bicycle, and since then the couple began the next chapter of their story, the transport by bicycle period.

In the late 1980's, Luo Junmei and her husband were on the
township movie projection team. In the past, Luo Junmei had
to carry all the projection equipment by hand and on her
shoulders, and had to walk to the villages to project movies.
Yet thanks to the partnership with her husband, Luo said
goodbye to these previous hardships. After Luo learned how
to ride a bicycle with her husband Lu Hongjun’s help, the
couple began to embrace a new era of movie projection.
