NPC deputy Wei Chao said: “Corruption in our country should take a turn for the better as the central and local governments step up anti-corruption measures. Anti-corruption should always be part of our country's reform and opening-up process. The economy is developing and the corruption phenomena should be reducing not increasing. The crux of the matter is on the government's ability to tackle the problem and enforce measures to stop it. ”
NPC deputy Yuan Hanmin said: “Corruption not only exists in our country but in all countries around the world. It's a general problem, including in the capitalist countries. Ours has specific circumstances. One problem is the weakness in our supervision system. The other is the conscience of officials. Therefore to tackle the problem one solution is to increase the supervisory system and legal regulations, another is to improve the accountability of officials from all ranks. ”
