The delegates that have gathered in Beijing are making their voices heard. Many have made suggestions from improving education and healthcare to helping protect the environment.
NPC deputy Yang Chengshi said: “I hope our country strengthens the training of teachers working in the mountain areas. Because teachers like me from the Guizhou mountain areas have no opportunity to go off the mountain and learn advanced teaching ideas. I hope training will enhance our capability. Funds should be allocated for this over time.”
NPC deputy Fu Mingyu said: “I think the financial allocation to education is still not enough. Although the government will guarantee compulsory education in the countryside, I think investment on education in cities should also be strengthened. ”
NPC deputy Ding Xiaolian said: “The key problems in our areas are the availability and high cost of medical care. Another is rural families can't afford to send their children to school. I'm very delighted that the premier's work report says the government will invest a large amount of money to implement nine-year compulsory education in the Western rural areas over the next five years. I think problems like the medical care of farmers and education of their children can be basically solved in five years.”
NPC deputy A Lihui said: “My proposal aims to launch projects to facilitate our local economy, and assist impoverished areas affected by changes to regional economic structures. ”
