The Hong Kong tourism industry has witnessed an increase of tourists since the SARS epidemic was contained worldwide.
Throngs of tourists from neighboring Guangdong Province took photos outside Hong Kong's new exhibition center, a clear sign that Hong Kong remains a chief destination for mainland tourists. On Sunday alone, Hong Kong travel agencies received more than nearly 1,500 Guangdong tourists. And the figure will steadily increase, according to industry insiders. By the end of this month, more than 12,000 people from Guangdong are expected to tour Hong Kong.
