The little English teacher on the campus

Recently, a really special recruitment is adhibited on the campus of Beijing zhanglanlu No.1 Primary School. Those who are offered positions are not teachers, but the students in the school. What on earth is going on?
In order to greet the 2008 Olympic Games, we started an upsurge of English learning in our school. The more important is that many students become the teacher's teachers and many teachers become the students' students. The
pupils help their teachers with English learning spontaneously during the break time, at noon or after school.
After a harsh examination, 73 students were chosen as English teachers. The school also held a meeting in which they were granted the formal letter of appointment. Lushan is a 6th grade student. She was also engaged as a little teacher. She picked her maths teacher, Ms Zhang as her student.
The maths teacher is relative serious in class, we all dare not approach to her. So I want to know about her more during this activity, I wish to make friend with my teacher.
Now Lushan looks very relaxed, but at the very beginning she did meet a lot of difficulties.
After all she would be her teacher's English teacher, and every time she taught her teacher English, there were other teachers in the office. So she would pace up and down for a while before entering.
However, after Lushan had taken on the role of her teacher's teacher for a little while, she found her teacher was very easy to get along with. Ms Zhang would often ask Lushan some questions about English after class. Her
classmates would also help her answer the teacher's questions.
I think the studying method that the students teach their teacher English is worth supporting. It could also be used in other aspect, such as
computer. Now the students all have a wide range of knowledge, which isn't known by the teachers. So by this way, the teachers also could learn a lot of knowledge from the students.
Ms Zhang is more than 50 years old now, so her memory is not so good. In order to help her teacher memorize the English words and sentence patterns, Lushan spends meticulous care in preparing the lessons.
She recorded the lesson on a tape, so that Ms Zhang could listen to it in her spare time.
Together with her classmates, she has also made lots of small cards with English words, sentences and phonetic symbols on them, which Ms Zhang could carry with her.
After class, Lushan often passed on her method and experience to the other little teachers. She put cards with words and sentence patterns on the wall of the teacher's office. She learned this from other little teachers.
I benefited a lot in this activity. A student from Class six Grade six was my teacher. She had taught me more than 20 sentences, all about the coming Olympic Games in Beijing. Just like “New Beijing, new Olympic.” and also
like “Welcome to Beijing”.
On the campus of Beijing Zhanglanlu No.1 Primary School, there are more than 70 students like Lushan, and they all teach their teachers to learn English with their own methods. At the same time, the teachers all study English very hard in their spare time. Their English level is improving little by little. During the course, the students began to understand their teachers
better and thus respect them more. On the other hand, their eagerness to study English is improved in return. In class, all the students answered the questions intiatively. After class, they often ask their English teacher some questions about English. They have a common aspiration “studying English well, be a nice host in 2008”. Now, the whole school is
immersed in a very positive atmosphere.

校园里的小英语老师

最近,在北京市展览路第一小学的校园里贴出了一份与众不同的招聘广告,所招聘的对象不是老师,而是在校的小学生们,这是怎么回事呢?
为了迎接2008年奥运会,我们在校园里掀起了学习英语的高潮。更重要的许多学生成了老师的老师,而老师却成了学生的学生。学生们利用课余时间自发地帮助他们的老师学习英语。
经过一番严格的考核之后,有73名学生被聘为小老师。为此,学校还专门召开了一次招聘大会,并向他们颁发了正式的招聘书。卢珊是六年级的学生,在这次活动中她也被聘为做小老师,她选择的学生是平时教学比较严厉的数学张老师。
张老师在课堂上比较严肃,我们都不敢接近她,所以我想通过这次活动多了解一下她,希望能和她成为朋友。
卢珊现在教起英语来已经十分自如了,但在刚开始的时候,她还真遇到了很多困难。
毕竟她所教授的对象是她的数学老师了,而且每次教英语的时候办公室里还有其他的
老师。所以前几次教课的时候她都要在老师的办公室前徘徊一阵子,才鼓起勇气进去。
但经过一段时间的相处之后,卢珊发现数学老师并不是那么难相处。老师还经常
利用课间主动去找卢珊请教英语方面的问题。班级里的其他学生也都帮助解答问题。
我觉得这种学习方式还是值得提倡的,学生教老师学习英语,也可以用于其它方面,比
如计算机。现在学生的知识面还是挺广的,很多知识老师也是不会的,所以通过这种方
式老师也可以从学生那儿学到很多东西。
由于张老师已经50多岁了,所以记忆力不是很好。为了帮助数学老师记忆英语单
词和句子,卢珊在备课的时候还真花了不少心思。
她把上课的内容录下来送给老师,以便老师在闲暇的时间可以跟着练习发音。
她和同学一起把英语单词和句子写在小卡片上,并标上音标,让数学老师随身带着。
在课余时间,卢珊还经常与其他小老师一起讨论教学方法,互相传授经验。把英语句子
和单词贴在老师办公室墙上的方法就是卢珊从其他小老师那儿学来的。
我本人在这项活动中也是受益者,六年六班的一个同学做我的小老师,她教我学了二十
几句,全都是迎奥运方面的,像“新北京,新奥运”,还有像“欢迎到北京来”。
在展览路一小的校园里,还有七十多名像卢珊这样的学生,在用自己的方法教他们的老
师学习英语。同时老师们在工作之余,也都在努力学习,他们的英语水平在逐渐地提
高。在教课的过程中,学生们体会到了做一名老师的辛苦,并更加尊重他们的老师。他
们学习英语的积极性也大大提高了,在课堂上都主动回答问题,课后还经常会向我提出
各种英语方面的问题。他们有一个共同的愿望“学好英语,2008我当家”。整个校园里
充满了一种积极向上的学习气氛。
