| CCTV gears up for Spring Festival gala |

With less than 20 days to go before another Spring Festival, China has geared up for the usual great variety and intensity of celebrations. CCTV has also been busy in refining its Spring Festival song and dance gala, after they recently finished the first phase of shooting in Kunming, the Spring City in southwest China's Yunnan province.
Dubbed "The Youth China", the CCTV Spring Festival song and dance gala shows the whole population's happiness during the national celebration. The gala attempts to reflect the Chinese people's zeal and persistent efforts for modernization and national strength. This year the gala's lineup differs by combining traditional and contemporary performance styles.
More than 200 of the best dancers from around the country, and more than 60 of the most popular singers from China's mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan will appear at the gala. Audiences across the country will again fully enjoy many well－known classics like "Unforgettable Night", "Miss You", "Endless Happiness", and "True Heroes", but with a refreshing difference.
Shooting of the CCTV Spring Festival song and dance gala is expected to be finished by Jan. 15.
