The Erwang Temple, or "Temple of Two Kings" stood for 2,000 years before it crashed down during the Sichuan earthquake. The temple was built to honor Sichuan Governor Li Bing and his son for their remarkable achievement in building the Dujiangyan irrigation project.

Five days of salvage and clean-up at the temple site have recovered bits and pieces of tablets and some folk art. The gleanings from the rubble are now in professional hands.
It's quiet at the Erwang Temple. The May 12th earthquake leveled most of the ancient buildings. The few that remain are unstable. A few valuable pieces have turned up in the rubble.
