Tian'anmen Square, the landmark of the Chinese capital, is going into makeup to prepare for the upcoming 53rd birthday of the People's Republic.
The biggest flower terrace, right in the center, covers an area of 1,600 square meters. Red petal designs surrounding a fountain form a huge circle with a diameter of 72 meters. It is a symbol of the unity of the Chinese.
Four theme flowerbeds are scattered in each direction. There are miniatures of the Yan'an Tower and the Site of the Zunyi Meeting, following the revolutionary steps of the Communist Party of China.
The design of satellites surrounding the Earth, on the other hand, sheds light on the prospect of building a future on science and technology.
There are also patterns representing the various ethnic groups, landscapes and historical heritages of the country.
The flowers don't just reflect all the colors of daylight. After sunset, they help to make up a different beauty of night. A computerized lighting system has been installed to show tourists to the square's nightscape.
