Newspaper editorial hails CPPCC opening as a success  |

China’s leading newspaper,the People’s Daily, is hailing the opening of the new CPPCC session. Its editorial says the 5th session is of great significance as CPPCC members are expected to offer advice and proposals to the central government for the year's task on reform and construction. Reviewing achievements of the past year, the editorial says the major goal of this year's CPPCC session is to work for the accomplishment of tasks set for the reform and development, under the guidance of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Party's policies.
