NPC and CPPCC delegates arrive for annual sessions

The annual plenary session of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will kick off in Beijing next week. NPC deputies and CPPCC members are arriving in Beijing, shouldering the expectations of the Chinese.

Trains and planes carrying the out-of-town NPC deputies are arriving at their common destination: Beijing.

Confident of the success of the new session, the deputies say they will live up to the people's expectations when exercising their duties at the NPC, China's top legislative body.

Wu Chongcai, a deputy of the Chinese People’s Congress said: "As NPC deputies, we should perform the duties granted to us by the people. It's our responsibility to inform the central government of the people's concerns and bring home the government's policies and instructions."

The Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) members are also arriving from different parts of the country. They carry with them the carefully prepared motions to be submitted at the session.

Wang Chaobin, a member of the CPPCC, said: "I've brought a motion concerning China's basic education. I want the motion to be fully implemented and I wish the session success."

Ma Jiliang a CPPCC member, said : "I'm advocating the unity of all the nation's ethnic groups. People of all ethnic groups should work for the development of the western regions of our country."

Preparations for the upcoming NPC and CPPCC sessions are all set.
