| NPC Standing Committee to Hold 26th Session in Beijing |

The Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, will hold its 26th session in Beijing from February 27-28.
According to sources from the 54th meeting of the chairman and vice-chairmen of the NPC Standing Committee which was convened in the capital Wednesday and presided over by Li Peng, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, lawmakers at the above two-day event will review the draft amendment to the Law on the Inspection of Import and Export Commodities.
In addition, the meeting will make preparations for the fifth session of the ninth NPC scheduled to open on March 5, and will deliberate the draft procedure, the draft namelist of the presidium, secretary-general and other attendants, and the draft work report of the NPC Standing Committee.
