中国学生在学习英文的时候，学到两种名词，可数名词和不可数名词。实际用法要比这个复杂的多。因为几乎所有的名词都可以是可数名词或不可数名词，这取决于上下文。
“火”fire就是这样的词。如果你谈论的是火这种物质或现象，它是不可数名词。
比如：Fire is dangerous. 火是危险的
如果是描述这里一团火，那里一团火。这是谈论的就是具体的火，就是可数名词了。
比如：forest fires
所以你要看语境，上下文。
