　　在今天的每周一星当中，我们说的并不是一个歌星或是一个影星，而是一种音乐形式，那就是乡村音乐，Country Music. Country Music really began in 1927, in Bristol, Tennessee。Bristol是美国西部的一个港口，在田纳西州，这里至今仍然被人们认为是乡村音乐的发源地。因为在1927年被誉为“乡村音乐之父”的Jimmie Rodgers开始了乡村音乐创作和发行，使乡村音乐从民间传唱走向了舞台。

　　你看像现在的乡村歌手比如Faith Hill, Shania Twain, 都不再是牛仔的形象了，而是非常时尚的外表。而且也很难看到她们抱着吉他边弹边唱了。但她们仍然被定义为乡村歌手。主要的原因是乡村音乐向着多元化，商业化的方向发展了。但这对于音乐迷来讲是个好事，因为这使得乡村音乐更好听，更容易接受了。

　　Dixie Chicks就是一只还保持着这种传统风格的乐队。而且她们非常受听众的欢迎，在2003年她们捧走了多项Grammy奖。像我们都很熟悉乡村音乐演奏时都要用到木吉他，而且还有一种乐器也是经常用到的，那就是小提琴。这里我们说的小提琴与我们平时说的violin还有一点不同他的英文叫做fiddle是一种乡村小提琴，fiddle。这也是乡村音乐的一个特征，所以你在“小甜甜” Britney的音乐中是看不到fiddle的。
