News:The longest continuously running show at American Theatre is on its way to China. Andrew Lloyed Webber’s famous musical “Cats” will be in Beijing in two month. It was perhaps the most long a waited news conference at Beijing Asia Hotel. The musical has been translated into ten languages after the original production opened at New London Theatre in 1981. 1．音乐剧的起源
有关音乐剧的起源，目前尚无定论。从音乐剧各个时期的发展看，无论是源于欧洲的古典轻歌剧和喜歌剧，还是美国本土的乡村歌曲、黑人灵歌、爵士乐和流行歌舞，从中都可找到其影子。可以说，正是这种“兼收并蓄”的宽容，使得百老汇音乐剧具有了今天丰富多彩的形式和旺盛的生命力。1907年，一部用流行音乐风格创作的《特里莫尼莎》上演，被视为美国音乐剧正式诞生的标志。至于音乐剧真正成为一种独立、成熟的艺术形式，则要从1927年的《演艺船》开始。

3．猫的剧情：
《猫》的剧情相当简单。讲述了一个杰利克猫族，他们每年都要举行一年一次的舞会，要挑选一只猫升上天堂。大家等待着杰利克猫的领袖老杜特洛内米猫的到来。老杜特洛内米猫终于来了，于是所有的猫都粉墨登场，尽情地表现自己。他们中有“年轻天真的白猫维克多利亚”，“老刚比猫珍尼安尼朵茨”，“爱恶作剧的兰塔塔格”“爱开玩笑的蒙哥杰瑞和蓝蓓第泽”“邪恶猫麦克维第”“大力士猫巴斯朵夫·约翰”“剧院猫嘎斯”“铁路猫斯金伯·申克斯”“魔术猫米斯特腓力”等等。最后登场的是当年风采照人而如今邋遢脏脏的“格里泽贝拉猫”，她在痛苦悲伤的情绪下，深情地唱出了《回忆》，这首歌打动了所有的猫儿，大家一致推选她升入天堂，全剧结束。
