Dmtry Medvedev said that he's hopeful next week's summit with Barack Obama will help Moscow and Washington find new ways to cooperate.

Dmitry Medvedev, Russian President, said, "I hope that my American colleague and I will hold substantial and full-fledged talks that will produce real results."

Medvedev says relations between the two countries have worsened over past years.

But he notes the new US administration is now demonstrating readiness to change the situation, and build more effective, more reliable and in the end more modern relations.
