Zelaya was ousted in an army coup on Sunday.

Speaking in Panama City, he said world powers must safeguard democracy by taking a tough stance on the interim government, which he has described as illegal.

Manuel Zelaya, Honduran President, said, "Next week, given the OAS resolution, this decision will be in the hands of the world powers. I will not appeal to action from specific countries. I will make world powers responsible starting next week. Because all the resolutions they asked for have been drawn: the support of Latin America, the support of the Caribbean, the support of Europe, the support of Eastern countries, the support of Africa, of Asia, condemning the coup and demanding my restitution.
