Special Report: Air France jet vanishes |
The Brazilian Air Force has confirmed two male bodies have been found in the Atlantic Ocean near the area where an Air France Flight 447 is believed to have crashed.

Air force spokesman Colonel Jorge Amaral said the two bodies were recovered on Saturday morning about 70 kilometers south of where the ill-fated flight emitted its last signals. That's roughly 640 kilometers northeast of the Fernando de Noronha islands off Brazil's northern coast.
An Air France ticket corresponding to the flight was found inside a leather briefcase. However Amaral said there was no evidence to link the ticket to either of the two bodies retrieved. The bodies were being transported to the Fernando de Noronha islands for identification.
The finds could potentially establish a more precise search area. Investigators are searching for the crucial black box flight recorders that could tell why the jet crashed. The Air France plane was thought to have dropped into the Atlantic Ocean late last Sunday with 228 people on board. Authorities said there were no survivors.
