Colombian authorities have identified the suspect as Miguel Angel Beltran. They say he is a key member of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC.

Authorities say his role was to promote the guerrilla group internationally and to write articles for pro-rebel Web sites. Colombian prosecutors said he pleaded innocent on Saturday to charges of rebellion and conspiracy.
