On July the 18th, the replica of the Swedish merchant ship "Gotheborg" arrived at Guangzhou, capital city of south China's Guangdong Province. I am very honored to witness this historical event during my first business trip after I graduated last year.

Just like everybody else, my maiden trip was full of excitement, especially when I watched the biggest wooden sailboat in the world voyaging towards the dock. It was far beyond my imagination though I had done a lot of research ahead and already known what it was like. The real “Gotheborg” is more impressive and magnificent than expected, a little bit like the ship in the movie PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. Staring her sailing, I had a vagarious illusion that she was coming from ancient times. With a sudden impulse of expressing at that moment, I really wanted to tell the audience my feelings because I’m sure that what I saw and felt must be different from that the people watching on TV. To be honest, it was the first time that I perceived myself a journalist.

But besides excitement, we really got a number of troubles in shooting and interviewing. All the situations and details should be considered ahead and a quick response was need as well. News emphasizes “new”, so we had a race against time. In order to insure the news could be broadcasted, I had to transfer it back to CCTV in time despite all the difficulties.

During the three days in Guangdong, we nearly had no spare time. We were occupied by work, writing, interviewing, editing as well as coping with various unexpected problems. Luckily enough we managed it. With the help of my colleges, we successfully finished the report on Gotheborg, which would be a treasured memory for me.

I learned a lot from my maiden business trip. And I’m very glad to share my experience with all readers.
