Wang Luoyong is well known for being the first Chinese mainlander to sing on Broadway. For over six years, and for more than 2,500 performances, he played the lead role of the engineer in Miss Saigon, one of the most successful Broadway musicals.  The road to getting a lead role on the Broadway stage is not easy for anyone, let alone someone who ten years prior was still learning English.  How did a Chinese man train himself to sing, act and dance fluently in English? You’ll hear all the stories behind his remarkable journey in this episode.

In early 2002, Wang returned to China, and encountered a new challenge – acting on film and in television.  Along with the many TV dramas he has acted in, he also is a drama teacher, sharing his experience and insight with his students.  During this interview, he also imparted his knowledge to our studio audience, and conducted a mini-drama workshop.  Enjoy the mini-play on our program!
