Ma Youli, CPPCC member from Macao SAR

Ma Youli, one of outstanding CPPCC member from Macao Special Administrative Region talked about his understanding of CPPCC work and his insights of Mainland and Macao economic cooperation after 10 years’ return of Macao. This year, he has proposed to make a better use of the platform of Macao to increase the economic cooperation between Chinese mainland and Taiwan and strengthen the ties of those two regions. Along with his participation in the CPPCC, there are another 11 members have participated the CPPCC at provincial or national level. He said that it is his personal and family responsibility and honor to participate in the CPPCC to make more contribution to the country.

Besides talking about his responsibilities in the CPPCC, he has also mentioned the economic exchanges between mainland and Macao. After 10 year’s return, Macao has benefited a lot from some preferential polices laid out by the central government, such as CEPA. In the meantime, many small and medium sized Macao companies invested in mainland and achieved a lot. Ma mentioned that tourism is an important pillar industry of Macao’s economy and amazingly, the number of tourists visited Macao in 2008 exceeded in that in Hong Kong. The confluence of eastern and western culture has attracted many visitors to Macao.

As for the family stories, he and his father, Ma Wanqi, consistently support and concern about the development of nation. Their love for motherland never faded.
