Lance Armstrong, from USA, Astana, said, "You can't win the Tour de France when you are forty either, so you have to understand that at some point the sun sets. I mean, I could very well be past that point now and putting myself up for a lot of suffering."

Armstrong will support Leipheimer in his bid to win the 100th anniversary edition of the biggest multi-stage race after Le Tour.
