Rio's venues are fairly spread-out, including several new Olympic-standard stadiums built for the Pan-American Games in 2007. Brazilian soccer star Pele kicked a ball around the world's largest soccer stadium to talk-up Rio's bid.

IOC evaluation team members watched an air force display, and banners hung on the city's streets welcomed the IOC team. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva has expressed confidence in Brazil's bid.
