Juan Manuel Pellicer extended his lead over his motorbike class rivals after stage five of Rally Africa. And in the car division, Jean Louis Schlesser also stayed top of the standings.

In the motorbike class, Pellicer made a perfect finish for the over 600-kilometer long trek from Bou-Jerif to Agadir. He opened his lead to one hour and 33 minutes.

But his nearest rival Arnaud Jacquert was troubled by the mechanical issues. The Frenchman struggled to remain in second.

In the car division, mechanical issues forced Suzuki's Fernando Gil Puebla and Francois Lethier in the Toyota to poor finishes of ninth and seventh respectively.

Jean Louis Schlesser took chance to stretch his advantage to a massive one hour and 47 minutes.

Jean  Louis Schlesser, Auto Class Leader, said,"Very nice with a lot of navigation. Behind I think it'll be hard. We've crossed places I've never seen before and I know very well Morocco. The valley we've used today with large ways.. I never used it. Nice landscapes. Fantastic."

Hans Becx, Toni Maessen and Edwin Willems continue to hold a narrow lead in the truck class.
