With players from 44 countries taking part in qualifications, the final day at the city's Estadio Municipal pitted highly talented players against each other to perform skillful moves. The contenders faced the daunting prospect of performing in front of some of the world best-loved football judges, with Dutch football star Edgar Davids joined by 1994 World Cup winner Bebeto.
In the end, it was the 24 year-old Arnaud Garnier of France who claimed victory after saving some of his best moves until last. He blew away the opposition and earned the plaudits of his peers, along with the respect of the vocal and enthusiastic crowd. Garnier is expected to return to defend the crown he won in such impressive style at the next edition of the Red Bull Street Style World Final - which is scheduled to coincide with the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
