The Olympic torch has finished it's relay in ancient city Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province on Friday. A total of 208 torch bearers passed the flame, covering 9.2 kilometers.

Tian Liang, former Olympic diving champion, initiated the torch relay, running from Yanta at a quarter past eight in the morning. Thousands of spectators gathered along the streets to cheer for the Olympic flame.

Xi'an, located in the central Shaanxi Plains, was know as Chang'an in ancient times. And the city, one of the earliest headstream of Chinese ancient civilization, now is the political, economic, and cultural center.

Wang Libin, the best Asian basketball center in 1980s, lit the cauldron to end the relay. The flame will next head to Gansu province, and the journey of harmony will continue in Lanzhou city on Saturday.
