The Western conference semifinals between San Antonio and New Orleans will go to a deciding seventh game after the Spurs beat the Hornets in game 6. Manu Ginobili scored 25 points, while Tim Duncan added 20 points and 15 rebounds.

The Spurs came out with a desperate energy, shooting 71 percent in the first quarter. Tim Duncan was in ominous form, nailing this turnaround shot to put his team nine points in front.

In the second period it was the Hornets who turned the heat up. Chris Paul stole the ball to a lay-up to reduce the deficit to eight points.

In the third, the Hornets quickly found themselves in trouble on the foul count. San Antonio were firmly in control and Ginobili's back-to-back three pointers to start the fourth quarter gave San Antonio an 84-63 lead and put away the game.

The 99-80 Spurs win forces a seventh game in the series Monday in New Orleans.
