Top seed Roger Federer advanced to the last eight of the Hamburg Masters in Germany on Thursday with a 6-3 6-2  victory over Sweden's Robin Soderling.

Defending champion Roger Federer breezed past Robin Soderling 6-3, 6-2 on Thursday to reach the quarter-finals of the Hamburg Masters. Federer hit 24 winners compared to 10 unforced errors. Soderling was nearly the exact reverse, hitting 12 winners but making 23 unforced errors.
