China's badminton team are known for being quite strong and they've continued to live up to that reputation! Both the men and women from the national Chinese squad reached the last eight of the Thomas and Uber Cup tournament in Jakarta on Monday.

The men's team met Canada. World number one Lin Dan took the court first and beat Andrew Dabeka in straight sets. In the following four ties, Lin's teammates also won their matches without losing a single set. In the Uber Cupcompetition on Monday afternoon, China defeat Germany 4-1.

World No. 1 Xie Xingfang swept past Xu Huaiwen 21-10, 21-13 while Zhu Lin and Jiang Yanjiao both claimed victories to secure China's spot in last eight. For the past ten years, China have won the Uber Cup and for the past four years they've claimed the Thomas Cup. Now it's 2008 and The Chinese squad say they're on a mission to bring two cups back home.
