BOCOG has denied that equestrian tickets holders outside Hong Kong will automatically obtain the Olympic accreditations, which will allow them to enter or stay in Hong Kong during the Olympic Games. Deputy director of BOCOG's Accreditation Center Yang Minghui says equestrian tickets holders outside the city are supposed to send their applications to relevant authorities to obtain permits before they travel to Hong Kong. Those who are officially recognized as clients of the Olympic Games are able to acquire the Olympic accreditations.
Those clients include athletes, officials, staff, volunteers and journalists. This does not include spectators. Yang also says that equestrian tickets holders can enjoy a certain amount of priority for the application of permits. Some 250,000 Olympic ticket accreditations are now being processed.
