Barcelona will have a new coach at the end of the season. Frank Rijkaard has been sacked and there to take his place will be former captain Josep "Pep" Guardiola. The announcement was made by club president Joan Laporta on Thursday.

Former Dutch International, Rijkaard, joined the Catalan club in 2003, winning Primera Liga titles in 2005 and 2006, and also capturing the Champions League in 2006.
