The flame started its third day journey at 9:00 with a ceremony at Ioannina, and traversed a zigzag mountain road with snow and frost on trees along Mountain Pindes before reaching Grevena in the afternoon. The flame arrived at Verina, where it stayed overnight.

The last time the flame went through the town is four years ago, but it just passed without staying there. Dancers in traditional garment reminded the newcomers of the town's long history. The flame will continue its journey through northern Greece Thursday, passing through six cities, including Giannitsa, Ancient Pella and Thessaloniki.
