The inaugural Pan-Pacific Championship will kick off in Hawaii on Wednesday. Four teams from across the region are hoping to make their mark in what organizers say they hope will develop into a major tournament. Needless to say, both players and coaches are looking forward to it.

David Beckham, La Galaxy Midfielder said "No matter where I am physically, I always give 110 per cent in every game. Whether it's a World Cup match, whether it's a La Liga game, a Premiership game, an MLS game, or a friendly game like we've got, but like I said, we're still preparing for our season, but it doesn't mean we're not going to give 110 per cent in the games. That's what we do and that's what we're here for. We're here so that people can see what we can do on the field and hopefully, we can perform."

John Kosmina, Sydney FC Head Coach said "It's an important tournament. It's the inaugural tournament and we'd like to go home with our name on that trophy. We didn't come here to get a suntan, but we we will get to enjoy the hospitality and the scenery and the beauty of the place, but we're here to play football."
