Serbia beat France 2-1 in a Hopman Cup Group A match in Perth, Australia on Wednesday. Serbian player Jelena Jankovic was forced to forfeit her match in the second game of the match due to an injury, but she decided to play the mixed-doubles match and put on a gutsy performance.

In the opening match, the world number three, Jelena Jankovic of Serbia, came up against the 13th-ranked Tatiana Golovin of France. Despite Jankovic's breaking her opponent's serve in the first game, she required medical attention after appearing to pull a right hamstring muscle.
She left the court for treatment, but returned to play two more points before forfeiting the match and giving Golovin the victory.
In the men's match, the world number three Novak Djokovic of Serbia was up against world number 54 Arnaud Clement.
Last year's US Open runner up Djokovic broke his opponent's serve in the fourth game to take a 3-1 lead. The Serb would go on to win the set 6-3.
The 20-year-old Djokovic continued to hold the advantage over his 30-year-old opponent to win the following set and the match 6-3, 6-3.
So the tie all came down to the mixed doubles and, remarkably, after leaving the court injured, Jankovic returned and played the match despite her injury.
