Special Report:   2008 Beijing Olympic Games

The second phase of domestic ticket sales for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games began yesterday here in the capital. A lottery system is now in place similar to the one used in the first round.

Ticket sales for next year's Beijing Olympics was suspended on October 30th. It has now resumed with a slightly different policy from "first come, first served" to "application, lottery and confirmation". No priority will be given to any application. On Monday, some buyers still queued early to try their luck.

Song Wei, Beijing resident, said, "I came here very early and that demonstrates my eagerness. I know I can come later because it is a lottery policy, but I hope I can get some tickets successfully this time. I have failed to get any tickets with the previous two attempts."
